a bed of random knots — pick N, and every card grows its own petal projection from a fresh shuffle of 1..N.
A petal projection draws a knot as one continuous loop of string that
passes through a single point N times — like a
flower with N petals all meeting at the center. The order the
strands stack at that meeting point (over, under, over, under…) is
a permutation of 1..N, and that stacking order is
basically the knot's fingerprint. Every card below is a different
random permutation of the same N, relaxing under a tiny spring
simulation so the loops settle and wobble like real string instead
of sitting frozen as math.
tug a strand — click or tap and drag any loop, it pulls the rest of the string with it.
